what lies are you feeding your cells?
our skin and crown but reflect but what we consume: from food, to thoughts, to products. i’d even argue that skin/hair-related dis-ease are not “hereditary.” what is transferred or passed on are the habits, and ways of eating/surviving/coping. similar ways of eating reproduce similar dis-eased experiences. as we gain more autonomy, the responsibility to thrive is ours to commit to.
so, how do you talk to your skin? how do you describe your hair? do you value ‘em? when you find yourself feeling negatively about ‘em whose voice are you hearing?
how dehydrated are you right now? have you had anything of nutritional value today? how strongly does your immune system bounce back? what ’s been your ratio of produce vs product lately?
what about your skin or hair have you tried to hide away under a hat, make-up, or braids? really, how much of it was it you expressing, vs you concealing? why?
have you read the labels? did you educate yourself on the ingredients? do you know how you react to ‘em? why do you use what you use? what taught you? where did you learn it?
why are your skin/hair care rituals as they are? are they intentional? are they learned habits? are they trends? are they healthy? do they make you feel good?
ask yourcellf … because really, cellf-awareness is key to a healthier relationship with your skin and hair.
